2013: A Year in Review

So this year was very eventful.  I finished my education and moved abroad to start a new life.  As far as my creative efforts go, I was not nearly as productive.  I guess that’s the name of the game: balance.  But I’m not upset about it.  Tainted was released in January, but due to a number of reasons, I decided to pull it.  It ended up being a good thing, because the book has been completely re-written, with new original artwork and a fantastic new cover.  I am so pleased with all of the new content.  It’s my plan to publish the novel in March 2014 and here’s hoping that things go very, very well this second time around.

I also hope to produce the first two Nightingales books.  The pilot, CRASH!!! is finished and the second, cool air, is in progress.   What I’d love is a solid block of uninterrupted time to complete cool air, as that is what I need and currently do not have.  Writing is a lonely and sometimes nearly impossible task, but it is what it is.

Moving abroad was, of course, the biggest thing that happened this year.  I’m still adjusting to the experience.  I’m disappointed in my failure to blog regularly the second half of this year, but considering the time shift and the fact that I’m working all the time now, I hope I’ll be forgiven.  I do have a structure in place that should afford me the time I need to begin blogging and writing regularly once more.  It sucks not having that outlet available to me, as I’m overflowing with thoughts and ideas that I need to share.

2013 was a very good year for me, one of the best years I’ve had in a long time.  2014 will have its challenges, but I am more than prepared for them.  I hope that will be the case for all of you.

Here’s to 2014!!!

  1. You stepped out on faith and belief in yourself and that to me is a major accomplishment. Many people will never have the confidence in themselves to try something new or different. I got a couple of things done and decided to go into a different line of work after realizing that I am tired of working in offices. So I am looking forward to my 2014 being better than the year that just ended. I hope that you have a great year.
