font-size: medium;">So for this year’s Halloween celebration, I will highlight what I consider to be the best years for horror movies. I did some research and found several websites that had their own lists. I compiled their lists and cross-referenced the overlaps, and when I settled on my particular collection, I went and found the best three or four movies for each of the years I chose. I talked this over with Noob, and she was able to point out another way to look at the data I collected. So what I will post here are my overall findings. I will include additional information such as the director, date of release and the film’s overall box office. </span></span></p><span id="docs-internal-guid-f825e345-7fff-c1c5-8931-714a7a7ca6b7"><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space-collapse: preserve;"><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;">It was so much fun to do the research required for this task. Just looking up the years and the movies was so enjoyable. I’ve been suffering from writer’s block for three years and it was nice to find something I could do while the Muse is asleep. </span></span></p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; It's been a combination of work busyness, work travel, writer's block and mental distractions. I'm going to be traveling back home to the US in a couple of weeks and it will be nice to be home again. I have no plans to travel anywhere this summer; there's too many things I need to take care of before returning to Senegal in August and I prefer to take care of them stateside.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">My writer's block has lasted 3 years. The Muse is not completely asleep; I've been outlining chapters and developing characters and plot details with Noob. Whatever the key is that fits in the ignition and starts the engine...I don't have it yet. I am thankful that I'm using the "down time" wisely; <i>Entropy</i> marks a drastic change in the way I write my novels. My job in Senegal is going very well. I have no immediate plans to relocate and I hope it stays that way for a long time. Dakar is a very good place for me and I have found a peace here I would rather maintain. My life is very simple: I work, I go home, I buy the things I need and I take care of myself. I’m not very sociable; I might do a thing once a month, but I have passed the point in my life where I need to be around a whole lot of people socially. I’d much rather curl up on my couch, eat snacks and watch TV while playing games on my tablet. It’s a good life.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I’m doing well healthwise; I’ve been working with a personal trainer and trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle. I put on a lot of weight while in Indonesia and it will take a long time to get it off. I don’t get on scales because doing so is counterproductive, but I have lost inches and THAT is what I focus on. My diet has changed in that I consume more fresh vegetables and have cut my sugar consumption in half. I work with my trainer 3X a week and it’s going as well as it can go.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I really need to get back to blogging on the regular. My life and existence changed significantly since I left the US 10 years ago, and so I don’t write about the things I used to when I was stateside. But there are things I feel like I should address, or at least get out of my system. For better or for worse, I found TikTok and all the fuckery goes along with it. I started out with looking at babies and everything went downhill after that, and I’ll get into that in a future post.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I still haven’t begun writing </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Entropy</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">; all I’ve done for the past year is brainstorm with Noob, write notes and draft chapters. I know what has to happen before the Muse takes over, but she hasn’t spoken to me yet. It is what it is; I can’t force her to speak if she doesn’t want to…but I hope she breaks her silence this year because I really do want to write this book. It’s a character-driven story about an affluent family with secrets; something Noob, Alliyah and I spit-balled over a decade ago while on a road trip. It’s going to be fun to write.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I hope this year is good for all of you. I’ve been a fan of The Shape since I was old enough to understand what it was. I’ve seen all the movies multiple times (even the ones I hate I’ve seen more than once), and I consider Michael Myers bae, but that’s a whole other conversation for another day. </span></p><span id="docs-internal-guid-fb0cfe0f-7fff-e69a-0920-4a4d45a2fa5c"><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWapW0ceRq0cCALxYY9Xdj2nksuLdrAQ1QyIzOnQs9l1fJibnUd3_wzJI5zciRxTp3s-rR0I2yOcu2EVirKfGBDyy9O983hev5PiExGa6hk4Q93utrNrthnaej4uay5EKF_N1xZ061vaVYfluMXanq_IejipmkvO2Cicw7xyxY48luamQBg8NrhhMe/s434/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-28%20at%2010.16.47%20PM.png" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="434" data-original-width="264" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWapW0ceRq0cCALxYY9Xdj2nksuLdrAQ1QyIzOnQs9l1fJibnUd3_wzJI5zciRxTp3s-rR0I2yOcu2EVirKfGBDyy9O983hev5PiExGa6hk4Q93utrNrthnaej4uay5EKF_N1xZ061vaVYfluMXanq_IejipmkvO2Cicw7xyxY48luamQBg8NrhhMe/s320/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-28%20at%2010.16.47%20PM.png" width="195" /></a></div></div><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I’ve seen </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Halloween Ends</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> three times. Normally, I do a short review of the movie and post it on my Facebook page for my friends. But I wasn’t able to do that because I have so many feelings regarding this movie. I loved </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">2018</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">, and was okay with </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Halloween Kills</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">. I knew going in to keep my expectations within a particular range, and even with that caveat, I was sorely disappointed.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Let me say this: </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Halloween</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> ended. Michael can’t come back from </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">THAT</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">. And let me say this: Somebody will reboot the series in five years, and I </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">will</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> be in the theater when that happens. </span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Having said all <i>that</i>, spoiler alert.</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: left;"><span></span></p><a name='more'></a></span><p></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">There were some interesting ideas in </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Ends</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">, but the execution left a lot to be desired. Of course it was billed as the final showdown between Laurie and Michael, and we do get that…but it’s more of a whimper than a bang. I expected more…even a passionate hate-fuck on the kitchen countertop would have been preferable to what we actually got. </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; white-space: pre-wrap;">I am going to touch on the things that got my attention, for better or for worse. First thing being that the writers wrote themselves into a corner. Corners, even.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Noob and I discussed this film at length. We’ve always viewed The Shape as being backed by supernatural forces. There is something guiding and protecting Michael, and that something allows him to withstand incredible abuse, including multiple gunshots at close range, </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 18.6667px; white-space: pre-wrap;">stabbings,</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> and body blows with 2X4s, hockey sticks, cast iron skillets, and baseball bats. Then in <i>HK</i>, Laurie talked about how Michael transcends the more he kills, which means he should have been a Super Saiyan after slaughtering 50 people in </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">2018 </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">& </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">HK</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">. David Gordon Greene and Co. have said that Michael is human, but no human can take the abuse that Michael got over these movies and survive. This is the first corner that they wrote themselves into.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">The movie makes a four year jump from the events of </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Halloween Kills</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">. We are told that Michael disappeared, but I want to know why. If all Michael wanted to do in </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">HK</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> was go home (which is what everyone says) so he can look out of Judith’s window, then what exactly drove him away from said window? And there were cops and paramedics outside of the house, so again…how the fuck did he get away? Who found Karen’s body? Michael was standing victoriously in front of the window, so who ran him off? Who or what made him disappear? Remember, he’s a Super Saiyan at this point and no one would have survived if they squared up with him. I has questions.</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtkPjqXCrZ8LEoXMqAgIeUeIjtNTEE-sf18SxZ9jFppJzIsyhDyeBNpkYtlbENTDjtKFd0kRJJQ16PyqJz0uocP1gZC0Bfh7g4CXKoUYk32oZH_Sp5b8PunRcER9AgyWTqghNIadt7vTfKQnyW-kdu3coYv9XyW7KzBMk1Gv0fNJOgb4ukpOz_3Qr0/s318/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-28%20at%2010.30.36%20PM.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="318" data-original-width="317" height="318" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtkPjqXCrZ8LEoXMqAgIeUeIjtNTEE-sf18SxZ9jFppJzIsyhDyeBNpkYtlbENTDjtKFd0kRJJQ16PyqJz0uocP1gZC0Bfh7g4CXKoUYk32oZH_Sp5b8PunRcER9AgyWTqghNIadt7vTfKQnyW-kdu3coYv9XyW7KzBMk1Gv0fNJOgb4ukpOz_3Qr0/s1600/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-28%20at%2010.30.36%20PM.png" width="317" /></a></div><span style="font-family: arial;"><div style="text-align: center;">Who made him leave? Apparently, Laurie got sober, got therapy and got a new lease on life, including writing her memoirs (which has the worst title ever: </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Stalkers, Saviors & Samhain</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">). She’s choosing not to live in fear anymore. Problem with this is that Michael murdered her daughter and got away, so he’s still out there. Why doesn’t </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">that</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> bother her when knowing Michael was alive and imprisoned kept her in a prison of her own making for 40 years? Could it be because “it” was never really about her, like Frank said in </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">HK</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">? I’m actually not too pressed about this because Laurie does deserve a chance at happiness, even if it’s sugarcoated bullshit happiness.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Halloween Ends</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> introduces the character of Corey Cunningham, who accidentally kills an annoying asshole of a child, and becomes a pariah after he is freed. Corey is the focus of the movie. He’s a 20-something mechanic who tries to stay out of everyone’s way, but falls in the path of a group of 18-year old band bullies. Yeah, you read that right. I wish I would let a bunch of kids bully me, but that’s neither here nor there. Corey is injured during his first run-in with the bullies and Laurie, seeing it, takes him to the hospital to introduce him to Allyson, who is a nurse, and it doesn’t take long for them to start dating. And they fall in love </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">fast</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">. Like literally, they meet on a Tuesday and are deeply in love by Thursday, to the point they want to run away together. </span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Bitch, </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">please</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">. Lies, all of it.</span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">During one encounter, the lead bully throws Corey over an overpass. We see an unconscious Corey get dragged into a sewer. When he comes to and tries to escape, Michael (who for whatever reason, has been living in the sewer) grabs his throat and chokes him out, but then he looks into Corey’s eyes and we get a flashback of all the shit he’s had to deal with since the death of that annoying asshole kid, and Corey gets away. </span></p><br /><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I attribute this to the supernatural force that backs Michael—knowing his time as The Shape was coming to an end—is looking for a new host. Kinda like a new Supreme rising when the previous Supreme begins to decline. Considering that we hear multiple times that evil doesn’t die, it just changes form (hell, even the opening pumpkins montage illustrates this), I was expecting Corey to become the New Shape. The movie attempts to head in this direction, but it shit the bed when it was time to woman up and actually </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">do</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> it. It doesn’t take long for the corruption to permeate him completely. When he has an encounter with Doug Mullaney over Allyson, Doug—who is obsessed with Allyson—follows Corey into the sewer and runs up on Michael (who is clearly injured, decrepit, and struggling) and gets stabbed. Doug falls back into Corey, who holds him and tells Michael, “Show me how to do it!” Michael obliges and stabs the shit out of Doug, and with each stroke, he gets visibly stronger and more upright. Why the fuck Michael is in the damn sewer in the first place is NEVER addressed, and this is the second corner DGG & Co. wrote themselves into. </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">2018</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> & </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">HK</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> Michael would </span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">never</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">.</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14pt; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHX3jT-woYnJIWflrpP2WMqJr84Hpx0V3nyz6AwHmOOXV7vxT8UlSk6Sep2MUbSQtnPYJQnFlRAVLxYVuNcCw0XvCAaV1GWFLf-eTHxqvAXstSrPa6khSoxBsp6VgeVruMGE3xIzpL9kLXuQ_5BYLV9dUi8OCq22n_yCr50yYGiWPfzirFmC7oWbAC/s616/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-28%20at%2010.14.02%20PM.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="616" data-original-width="564" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHX3jT-woYnJIWflrpP2WMqJr84Hpx0V3nyz6AwHmOOXV7vxT8UlSk6Sep2MUbSQtnPYJQnFlRAVLxYVuNcCw0XvCAaV1GWFLf-eTHxqvAXstSrPa6khSoxBsp6VgeVruMGE3xIzpL9kLXuQ_5BYLV9dUi8OCq22n_yCr50yYGiWPfzirFmC7oWbAC/s320/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-28%20at%2010.14.02%20PM.png" width="293" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: arial;">Not. I was eagerly sharing with her about finding <i>Mortis Media</i> and how much I enjoyed it. Zip countered with <i><a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/chillingtaleswi/featured" target="_blank">Chilling Tales for Dark Nights</a></i>, and if you’ve read any of the later chapters in “<a href="http://amayashorties.blogspot.com/2019/07/switchblade-romance.html" target="_blank">Switchblade Romance</a>,” then you know that I am a card-carrying stan of the channel. With <i>CTfDN</i>, I hit the scary story motherlode. What makes it different from <i>Mortis Media</i> is that they have different narrators. I quickly became a fan of <a href="https://youtu.be/qHC81eehHuU" target="_blank">Jason Hill</a> and <a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/OtisJiryReads" target="_blank">Otis Jiry</a>. Both channels are awesome, but <i>CTfDN</i> edges out <i>MM</i> due to the various and multiple narrators. Worth checking out, for real.</span></span></p><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4ifctYHpU9oqOO0NYT_p7qOTnLwF3iL2aY4cY1uOt6ukGKiRGKml_DJT1vt9pEHsitvkDNpatXbTjcamfYpat12ANE6LAV7qzpDjr2qulTpL-WgYQiYVQv04gvlbiE97Ubl7EYe2nhfzKqsuiXwIBUoUk_eVmq4P7yO8wWiE3hpZzQeiaL9XB2HQg/s561/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-21%20at%206.25.05%20PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="165" data-original-width="561" height="146" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4ifctYHpU9oqOO0NYT_p7qOTnLwF3iL2aY4cY1uOt6ukGKiRGKml_DJT1vt9pEHsitvkDNpatXbTjcamfYpat12ANE6LAV7qzpDjr2qulTpL-WgYQiYVQv04gvlbiE97Ubl7EYe2nhfzKqsuiXwIBUoUk_eVmq4P7yO8wWiE3hpZzQeiaL9XB2HQg/w498-h146/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-21%20at%206.25.05%20PM.png" width="498" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></div>Amaya Radjanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018534467097974996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8516479154752473667.post-70949617607113060812022-10-27T04:00:00.015-04:002022-10-27T04:00:00.195-04:00Horror 201: Content Creators--Mortis Media<p><span style="font-family: Arial; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="font-size: large;">One time, I found a Boris Karloff story anthology online one night called <a href="https://youtu.be/3c4DWcMKWWg" target="_blank"><i>Tales of the Frightened.</i></a> I listened to it every single night as it helped me fall asleep. One night, after about two months of the same old same old, my YT algorithm spit out something called "10 Scary Tales in the Snow," or something to that effect. I clicked on and discovered <i><a href="https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mortis+media" target="_blank">Mortis Media.</a> Mortis Media</i> has hundreds of scary stories (short and long) that range from A to Z in terms of themes and I was in heaven. The narrator—Mortis I assume his name is—has a very soothing voice and never fails to put me to sleep. Definitely look into <i>Mortis Media</i> out if you’re into scary stories to help you sleep or anything else.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU5q9eUyeJI75d3bcq3lAQo-U49N1fQxLvxK2ldvxlLhsHL3WzqFBIZljKocCFqYS57S3Y7eOF1K8ayawQq5TTIazh71UUBvKlaxpx-xV3aiDFjllntRGPYjT3DZB2Ak7JurbK0o9i7iXs0g9_1p_G4PydO41yiAyK-eHzAqRlO-xu5EFhVYITjbvK/s447/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-21%20at%206.17.49%20PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="153" data-original-width="447" height="163" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU5q9eUyeJI75d3bcq3lAQo-U49N1fQxLvxK2ldvxlLhsHL3WzqFBIZljKocCFqYS57S3Y7eOF1K8ayawQq5TTIazh71UUBvKlaxpx-xV3aiDFjllntRGPYjT3DZB2Ak7JurbK0o9i7iXs0g9_1p_G4PydO41yiAyK-eHzAqRlO-xu5EFhVYITjbvK/w474-h163/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-21%20at%206.17.49%20PM.png" width="474" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><div><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></div>Amaya Radjanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018534467097974996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8516479154752473667.post-70992348285583948832022-10-24T04:00:00.001-04:002022-10-24T04:00:00.191-04:00Horror 201: Content Creators--CZsWorld<p><span style="font-family: Arial; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="font-size: large;">I don’t even recall when or how I stumbled upon <a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/CZsWorld" target="_blank"><i>CZsWorld</i></a>. My man CZ does horror movie character histories and they’re really good. He also has a series called “Things You Missed…” which goes into detail about the little details hidden in horror movies that only real fans of the genre and series can truly appreciate. The horror histories are great from the perspective of a horror movie lover and that of an author. I love the depth that CZ goes into with his character analyses. In addition to other things such as hosting creepypastas and doing “Dead Talks” on his channel, CZ also creates horror short films of his own. He’s a fascinating creator and lover of horror, so he’s alright with me. Check him out.</span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Arial; white-space: pre-wrap;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-IGWBEV5OcLXi-BBLJdrdVSMzHbtVJJKYP3IJ75sVp8BAEkx7HMnGNeg5Vbo_SSwwvlRY5dd_46soQ0d7RYUg6ekOSEtCrTgMFXUXbeKXxoNJB9vfFDVJFiRhhQM6VNUy7RB4hINJQO5X52ARKgNK0ivh8tZzzvUMdY-EaNqjBdTONFbQc-a6v_us/s608/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-19%20at%207.54.33%20PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="187" data-original-width="608" height="168" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-IGWBEV5OcLXi-BBLJdrdVSMzHbtVJJKYP3IJ75sVp8BAEkx7HMnGNeg5Vbo_SSwwvlRY5dd_46soQ0d7RYUg6ekOSEtCrTgMFXUXbeKXxoNJB9vfFDVJFiRhhQM6VNUy7RB4hINJQO5X52ARKgNK0ivh8tZzzvUMdY-EaNqjBdTONFbQc-a6v_us/w547-h168/Screen%20Shot%202022-10-19%20at%207.54.33%20PM.png" width="547" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span><p></p><div><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 11pt; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></div>Amaya Radjanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018534467097974996noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8516479154752473667.post-31149893880962646702022-10-21T04:00:00.005-04:002022-10-21T04:00:00.194-04:00Horror 201: Content Creators--Cody Leach<p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;"><span style="font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I found Cody Leach’s <a href="https://www.youtube.com/c/CodyLeachChannel" target="_blank">channel</a> around the same time I found </span><span style="font-style: italic; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Dr. Wolfula</span><span style="font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">. He reviews good horror flicks as well as trash horror flicks. Decker calls himself “The Internet Personality With the Best Hair,” and it’s applicable because he has long, curly locks. I had to have oral surgery a couple of weeks ago to remove an infection under one of my molars. I'm still lost as to how that could have happened, but I'm definitely feeling much better now.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">It's October and you know what that means. I had this year's topic selected after I completed last year's celebration. I knew how I wanted to present the information and was excited about it. Unfortunately for me, I've been suffering from massive writer's block for the better part of a year. I can barely write a single word, which is one of the reasons I haven't been blogging much. <i>Entropy</i>, my current project, is languishing in my Google Docs, waiting for me to write something other than the words "Chapter 1." </span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">The writer's block has also affected this year's Halloween celebration. I'm simply not inspired to write on the topic I chose--at least not this year. And because I can't, I'm not going to force the issue. What I think I'll focus on instead--and what may work best for my current state of mind--is posting random entries, similar to what I did for <a href="http://www.amayaradjani.com/2019/10/" target="_blank">Horror 101</a>. </span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">I can tell you that some of the posts will focus on certain YouTube content creators that I've been following for several years and don't think I've ever mentioned here in the Dark. But that's about all I can say. I do hope to meet my self-imposed count of 10 posts, but we will see what happens.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: arial; font-size: large;">Happy Halloween, Dark Dilettantes! I hope you enjoy whatever it is I'm about to post. And here's hoping it helps my writer's block.</span></p>Amaya Radjanihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06018534467097974996noreply@blogger.com0
